Day by the river!
Today we went hiking in a new park which we have never gone to before, and I took lots of photos. We had a very good time and got mildly lost and Tulio hid behind a rock and scared the poo out of me.

Tulio says,

The river is over there

And the photos are behind

Most of them are pretty self explanatory so there won't be too many captions

Photobucket

a sweet little fern

There must have been a home here at some point because there were lots of clumps of daffodils. I didn't find the homesite but I didn't look that hard either.

I am such a nerd, I took this photo because it kind of reminded me of a traveling rib or cable pattern

Photobucket

also, a beaver gnawed the part on the right

I think this rock is so beautiful!

I find the movement of water to be hypnotic

This rock is balanced oddly and we decided that in summer we will come back and wade across the river to check it out. It was really very intriguing, although I'm not sure you can tell from the photo.

Tulio wants to come back when it warms up to go fishing. We didn't take photos of the campsites, but they are really nice.

I tried to take a photo of the rocks under the water to show how clear the water is. I don't think I succeeded, but I like the textures in this photo anyway.

Another tree which has been gnawed by a beaver. I didn't see any beavers though (feel free to insert a vulgar joke here)! Or their lodge either.

Photobucket

A better idea of the colors, which were lovely, and I like the reflection on the water in the background, too.

rocks, water

Photobucket

An amusing fungus that looks like a frog face

bye! hope you liked the photos!

Lovely. I miss exploring the woods. When I lived in upstate NY it was a regular thing and I really, really miss it.

And whoo hoo! Daffodils. I'm so ready to see those in my back yard.

That's something I really, really love about my new home -- we live in the city but we are surrounded by awesome parks!

Gorgeous Pictures!
That water looks cold though!
:)
And the beaver tree is awesome. I miss wandering around a park with my honey.... too scarey in this world to do it alone... but I like to go exploring too.

I should have known. Love that area. Have you been to the mill and gotten some corn meal?

I immediately thought 'knerd' (instead of 'nerd', you know).
